This post is in the “Notes to self” category – where I try to say something useful in one hundred words or less. I chose to keep it brief because right now I’m feeling at a loss of words with the ignorance and narrow-mindedness I often notice. Here we go.
If you think that choosing to die for your convictions* is the ultimate act of self-sacrifice, you haven’t truly tried living for your convictions. Nothing will test your strength, courage, love, and tolerance for pain more than that.
*A whole series of books could be written about the nature of those convictions, but I’ll keep it short and simple, and use Ellen DeGeneres’ words: “Accept who you are. Unless you’re a serial killer.” In other words, be true to yourself, but don’t harm others.
