A few days ago my friend, PD, posted a link to a beautiful poem. It’s called My Yesterday and it was written by Souldier Girl. When I say that the poem is beautiful I am talking about its execution and its emotional impact. Its message is not beautiful at all. You can read it for yourself here.
Today I heard a song that made me think of that poem. The song is called Broken Girl and it’s performed by Matthew West, a Christian singer. I don’t listen to many Christian songs on my own. That’s a longer story that I’m not ready to write yet. Still, I like some of these songs very much. They go past my doubts, my questions, and my wavering faith, and just … touch me. I could listen to them over and over, regardless of how close to or how far away from the divine I feel. This is one of those songs.
Here is a link to Broken Girl. It’s a beautiful song with ugly images and a message of hope. A message of healing. I hope you like it too.
thank you so much for mentioning my piece in your beautiful post. You’re a wonderful writer and I’m really honored. Thank you so much ❤️❤️
You’re very welcome and thank you for your comment also. I think you have a wonderful blog. It takes a lot of courage and talent to write the way you do.
